The brief
Pocklington Town Council asked us to help with the conservation and scanning of a large cemetery map and we were pleased to accept the challenge.
The challenge
The large size of the maps made this a particularly challenging project. In addition, due to the fragile condition of its disintegrating sections, the map had to be transported carefully to the conservators laid flat.
The solution
Once the conservators had completed their part of the project, we transported it back to our offices for our specialist team of technicians to scan it to make a digital copy, before delivering it to a specialist framing supplier. Our client was delighted with the outcome and the framed cemetery map hangs in pride of place in the mayor’s parlour.
