The brief
The Council asked us to use data Scripti had previously transcribed and OCR-processed, to produce a digital map which could be linked to their existing administration system for genealogy purposes.
The challenge
The main challenge was filling in the gaps in the grave information provided and pulling all the information together from different formats into one cohesive and complete digital resource.
The solution
An accurate, user-friendly digital solution called ‘Cemetery searcher’ (provided in partnership with Pear Technology) was uploaded directly to the Council’s own website for easy public access and navigation.
